Cafe 7 Delicatessen and Pastaria offers gluten free options

Cafe 7 Delicatessen and Pastaria offers gluten free options

Cafe 7 Delicatessen and Pastaria offers many gluten free options. Ever skeptical, I met a friend for lunch. When I saw the long line and business of the cooks, I almost bolted. The fear of cross-contamination always outweighs the benefits of eating out. I opted to stay and was completely delighted. The owner took my order at the cash register. When I requested a salad prepared gluten free and started my spiel about “clean gloves, clean bowl, no croutons; etc.”, he smiled. His response, “do you know we have gluten free pizza too? Clean board, utensils, everything. We get it.” Heck, skip the salad, order me up some pizza.

Gluten free pizzas can also be made dairy free. If you call 20 minutes ahead, you can have gluten free pasta. The gluten free options are endless. The complete gluten free menu will roll out shortly.

Cafe 7 Delicatessen and Pastaria is located at 14101 N. May Ave Suite 117, in Oklahoma City, OK 73134. Telephone: 405-748-DELI.

Kikoman joins the Gluten Free craze

Kikoman joins the Gluten Free craze

Back in the day, there was no gluten free soy sauce. La Choy was sometimes safe and other times not. They went back and forth adding wheat, not adding wheat. I nicknamed soy sauce as “liquid wheat”. And then, La Choy realized gluten free was not that hard. Many years later, Kikoman agrees! No need to special order tamari sauce or skip the soy sauce. Now, Kikoman and La Choy both deliver gluten free. Available in a super market near you.

I recently sampled a variety of Bakery on Main’s gluten free products and must say, I was quite impressed!

They offer a gluten free granola that is delicious. The products I sampled were Nutty Cranberry Maple Granola and a variety of their granola bars. I love the bars because they are a quick breakfast on the go. Their amazing flavors include:

  • Peanut Butter & Jelly Soft & Chewy Bars
  • Apple Cinnamon Soft & Chewy Bars
  • Chocolate Almond Soft & Chewy Bars
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars
  • Cranberry Maple Nut Granola Bars
  • Extreme Trail Mix Granola Bars
  • Check them out online at Bakery on Main or purchase locally in Oklahoma City at Akin’s Natural Food Market.
